REVIEW OF FETISH NOIR PART II
I recieved this very detailed review of the show thru email and obtained permission from its author to post it here, so that you might get a pretty clear idea of what the show was like: Fetish Noir Part Two Featuring Delilah Borealis and Kasualtease Sponsored by Club Sacrament and hosted by the Studio, Fetish Noir Part Two presented a show that blended elements of gothic horror, sexual fantasy, and the trappings of S&M fiction with the mystique of old-fashioned macabre carnival sideshows.... Fetish Noir consisted of a series of well paced vignettes (their direction helped by the consultation of the Modern Gypsies, a local performance art troupe), small scenarios that explored debaucherous interaction between hapless victims with hidden sexual appetites and their perpetrators/would-be liberators. The evening began with a processional of the participants in the fashion of a carnival come to town, with Delilah Borealis as ringmistress at their lead. Her entourage consisted of two or three vixens, Delilah Borealis’ own slave boi, two carnies or assistants, a fire eater, and a number of costumed support dancers. In chairs around the dance floor/stage’s perimeter sat numerous onlookers, many of which were decked out in enticing gothy and fetish attire. Also present were a number of more benignly dressed gawkers, perhaps part of the Studio’s typical crowd. Soon one of Delilah’s two vixen accomplices was manacled and held fast as she examined her would be prey. The vixen was then suspended hand and foot by a rope rigging and hoisted above the floor. In this elevated state she managed to change positions from fetal face up to convexly spread eagle and finally to an inverted stance. All the while this vixen was spun around, whipped with a riding crop and cat of tails, as well as clipped with clothes pins on the underside of her thighs. All though only two clothes pins were used I noticed a couple of the more timid appearing audience members wince with gleeful recoil. There were other dramas as well. One included Delilah Borealis spinning a power grinder into her own metal-plate-fitted cod piece, from which the fire performer lit a cigarette. Another began with a nerdy dressed boy and bookish woman timidly holding hands. But before they could find the means to express their myopic affections, Delilah Borealis and her two vixens dressed as biker-inspired thugs accosted the two pulling their clothes from their bodies and “forcing” them to crawl around on hands and knees. A third presentation teased the audience with the silhouetted images projected from behind onto a screen of strap-on wielding women violating one another repeatedly. Sewing the seem of each vignette together were dancers that sometimes acted also as minor support characters. Throughout the evening they changed costumes a number of times. They dressed as mannequin-faced virgin-slut brides, unrepentant Catholic school girls, and of course temptation teasing devilettes. One of the featured scenes began when a man and a woman were pulled from the audience, stripped to their under garments, and handcuffed separately to two free-standing posts. They were spanked, whipped, clothes pinned, and drizzled with candle wax before being returned to their places beyond the spot lights. The show concluded with a stunning display of fire eating, breathing, and juggling. This performance, on its own was simply amazing. For a local troupe, the spectacle of this show was well wrought. It stands as homage to fetish-themed rock band concerts like those of Gen and the Genitortures or the Lords of Acid. Again, it too rests on a long and traditional foundation of carnival sideshow spectacles wrapped in a cloak of the lustful, spooky and bizarre. Their contemporaries include the Jim Rose Sideshow, The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, and Cirque Noir. I look forward to seeing Delilah Borealis and the Kasualtease’s routine develop as their own sense of style and originality matures.... --Pan the Dragon Current Mood: pleasedCurrent Music: damned evil video game music | | Thursday, December 6th, 2001 | | 12:46 pm |
last nights fetish show
last night's show was very very good. the crowd was a tad smaller but still great for one of my nights. the show itself pushed the envelope a bit more than the last show and from what i heard, people really enjoyed themselves. lee, the manager of the studio, seemed to like the show better this time as well, but seemed a bit nervous about the added fire element. i asked abby, cadence's ex-grrlfriend if she wanted to be in the show and she agreed. she got paddled, spanked, and was dripped on with hot wax.. it was a riot! but she said she enjoyed it! must talk to marilyn about the next show, it should be sometime early february. thanx to all that came out. you were great! this is the set list from dj exception before the show: curve - chinese burn nine inch nails - starfuckers (ogilvie) rammstein - engel *vnv nation - kingdom covenant - final man (club) front line assembly - everything must perish *and one - panzermencsh project pitchfork - timekiller suicide commando - love breeds suicide cleener - freezeout covenant - stalker (club) ivory frequency - today is the day angels & agony - darkness fictional - blue lights t.o.y. - strange modern art *yendri - everything matters *new order - bizzare love triangle *petshop boys - west end girls *sisters of mercy - temple of love *the cure - just like heaven *eurythmics - sweet dreams *covenant - dead stars the faint - your retro career melted x marks the pedwalk - facer kmfdm - facer funker vogt - funker vogt 1st unit (complete) aphex twin - come to daddy front 242 - religion (bass under seige) front line assembly - plasticity funker vogt - black hole (live) thrill kill kult - after the flesh vnv nation - genesis (icon of coil mix) wolfsheim - sleep somehow apoptygma berzerk - kathy song (ferry corsten edit) | | Thursday, November 29th, 2001 | | 12:05 pm |

Getting caught up
Got the day off of work today due to some flooding in my building so i had free time... imagine that! Watched some tv, did a touch of cleaning, played with my grrls twice. Sacrament has been a roller coaster ride for the past few weeks... the fetish night went very well with a record breaking crowd.. too bad more of them were not my usual crowd. Marilyn did a wonderful job with the show and we plan to do this every other month from now on. Plus she donated her proceeds to the benefit that was held the following sunday. Now that was a horse of a different colour. Things started to fall apart the day before with one of the bands backing out at the last minute..could not be avoided. Then it all started to unravel from there... guess my expectations were way too high.. got to learn not to believe anything any tells me... the crowd was not as big as estimated, the bands were not forcoming with the large amount of people we were told to expect, the food was at first meager, then far too ample for the crowd that did show.. the auction was total confusion..sigh.... oh well, i did try... and i will have a nice little check to send to the new york police & fire widows and children relief fund... the whole event left me drained and butting heads with everyone... so glad it is over... on to the next project.. halloween... A BUSY AND SAD TIME
I HAVE BEEN BUSTING MY ASS TO GET THIS BENEFIT TOGETHER, SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE, THE BENEFIT, NOT BUSTING MY ASS. WHEN I FIRST HEARD THE NEWS OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER ATTACK.. I WAS SHOCKED AND DEEPLY MOVED BY THE ACTIONS OF OTHERS WHO ACTED WITHOUT THOUGHT TO THEIR OWN SAFETY. I READ THE POSTS ON THE DARK ALABAMA LIST AND FELT THAT WE ALL SHARED THIS SADNESS, BUT AS TIME PASSED, IT SEEMS ALMOST EVERYONE HAS MOVED ON, FORGOTTEN OR JUST NO LONGER CARE. I KNOW THIS CANNOT BE TRUE, BUT IT SEEMS THIS WAY. I REACHED OUT AND ASKED FOR HELP TO PUT THIS EVENT TOGETHER, THINKING WE WOULD ALL RALLY AND RESPOND MUCH IN THE WAY THE WHOLE NATION SEEMED TO HAVE RALLIED, BUT MY REQUESTS FELL ON DEAF EARS FOR THE MOST PART. SOME HAVE OFFERED HELP AND SUPPORT, AND THIER OFFERS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED, BUT THEY ARE ALSO THE SAME FEW THAT ALWAYS SEEM TO BE THERE. FOR ONCE, I THOUGHT, WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING HERE TO FOCUS ON, A TASK THAT COULD MAKE US ALL FEEL LIKE WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. BUT ITS NOT THAT WAY AT ALL. ITS THE SAME FEW, PULLING TOGETHER AND MAKING SOMETHING HAPPEN. THE REST, I DONT KNOW, I GUESS WHAT HAS HAPPENED IS JUST TOO FAR AWAY FOR IT TO MAKE A MARK ON THEIR LIVES. OR MAYBE THE OVER SATURATION OF NEWS COVERAGE WAS TOO MUCH INFORMATION FOR THEM TO DEAL WITH.. TOO MUCH LOSS, TOO MUCH CHEESY PATRIOTISM, TOO MUCH "GOD BLESS AMERICA". MAYBE I AM JUST GETTING SOFT IN MY OLD AGE, BUT THIS EVENT OVERWHELMED ME AND MADE ME WANT TO HELP, TO AT LEAST OFFER SOME SHOW OF SUPPORT. I CANNOT IMAGINE BEING THE WIFE OF ONE OF THOSE MANY FIRE FIGHTERS AND WATCHING THE NEWS UNFOLD BEFORE ME AND KNOW THAT I WOULD MOST LIKELY NEVER SEE MY HUSBAND, THE FATHER OF MY CHILDREN, EVER AGAIN, DUE TO SOME STUPID ACT OF INSANITY. SURE, PEOPLE DIE EACH DAY, PEOPLE LOSE THEIR LOVED ONES EACH DAY.. SOME SAY SO WHAT? IT HAPPENS.. WHATS THE BIG DEAL? I DONT KNOW HOW TO ANSWER THAT BECAUSE I CANNOT COMPREHEND THINKING IN THAT MANNER... IT JUST SEEMS SO HEARTLESS. SO I ASK MYSELF WILL THIS BENEFIT BE WORTH ALL THE HOURS I HAVE SPENT ON THE PHONE, ASKING FOR DONATIONS OF FOOD AND OTHER ITEMS, ALL THE TIME I HAVE SPENT EMAILING AND FAXING AND CALLING PEOPLE TO TRY TO GET THIS EVENT ADVERTISED... ALL THE SLEEPLESS HOURS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS I HAVE FORGOTTEN TO DO, WHAT DETAILS I HAVE TO DEAL WITH TOMORROW... HOW MUCH FURTHER I WILL BE GETTING BEHIND AT WORK CUZ I AM SPENDING WAY TOO MUCH TIME FOCUSING ON THIS PROJECT... WILL IT MATTER IN THE LONG RUN... WILL ANYONE SHOW UP? SURE, THE FRIENDS AND FAMILIES OF THE BANDS WILL COME, THE FAMILY OF THE COMEDIAN WILL BE THERE... MY BOSS MAY EVEN STOP BY... BUT WILL THE PEOPLE I THINK OF AS MY FRIENDS COME? WILL THE PEOPLE I HAVE UP UNTIL NOW FELT SOME SORT OF KINSHIP WITH COME? I DONT KNOW... MAYBE I SHOULD NOT CARE.. AS LONG AS OTHERS COME AND WE ARE ABLE TO SEND THOSE FAMILIES JUST A LITTLE SECURITY FOR THE FUTURE, MAYBE THAT IS WHAT I SHOULD FOCUS ON.. MAYBE THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS.. MAYBE I NEED TO GET SOME SLEEP. Current Mood: contemplative | | Tuesday, September 25th, 2001 | | 12:54 pm |
A SUPER BUSY TIME FOR ME!
SPENT PART OF THE WEEKEND DOING SACRAMENT PROMO STUFF, REGINA, HONEY AND I WENT TO THE STUDIO AND MET UP WITH VILIM AND NIKKIE, VILIM BEING MY NEW HOUSE DJ, WHO WANTED TO CHECK OUT THE LAYOUT OF THE VENUE AND DJ BOOTH. THEY DID NOT STAY LONG. REGINA, HONEY AND I DID AND DRANK A BIT, THEY DANCED A BIT, AND WE PLAYED FASHION POLICE.. THAT PLACE IS SOOO SCARY ON THE WEEKENDS! WE HAD A MEETING WITH BEN SUNDAY TO WORK ON THE BENEFIT DETAILS, ITS ALL COMING TOGETHER I THINK. I EMAILED A BUNCH OF PEOPLE LOOKING FOR HELP WITH DONATIONS AND ADVERTISING... WORKING ON THE FETISH NIGHT AS WELL TRYING TO SECURE PRIZES FOR THE FETISH WEAR CONTEST, AND WORKING WITH MARILYN ON THE DETAILS FOR THE PERFORMANCE, ITS SOUNDS LIKE ITS GOING TO BE SOOO GOOD... MORE LATER! Current Mood: crazy | | Wednesday, September 12th, 2001 | | 3:34 pm |
Sept 12, 2001 This is a very odd time for us all. Due to the terrible things that have happened in NY and elsewhere, Sacrament will be donating all its door proceeds to the red cross. Sept 8, 2001 ALABAMA THEATER FUND RAISING AMOUNT IS NOW $105.00 | | 11:38 pm |
Sept 8, 2001 I have finally gotten some sleep and can update this thing. The past few weeks have been very eventful. I had Heresy Night (aka catholic school grrl nite a few weeks ago, and ended up staying open longer than i ever have on a wednesday nite. The following week, i had the gothic prom, which required more work and planning and was exhausting but alot of fun. Jim Beeler from the tampa area came to spin and was great. Have yet to hear from the guy that took the prom photos tho, and that concerns me. The next week was a reunion night with my oldest son coming home to spin along side my youngest son. It was a very fun night. the following night i hosted my last live show for the time being with the cruxshadows and bella morte. the night got off to a rough start for the bands when the cruxshadows and car difficulties, which put the band into a not so great mood upon arrival to the venue, understandable. Set up and sound check took a long time but the show still started at a decent time. Bella Morte asked me to introduce them and put on a great show. I really loved the last two punk like songs they ended the set with. I just wish they had had those songs on something other than vinyl! Next i introduced the Cruxshadows and the performance was amazing! Rogue did his usual very personal one on one interaction with just about everyone in the venue... they were blown away. I really wonder what will happen to this band when they reach the stage where they perform in larger concert halls and such, what will happen to the interaction? It will be a shame to see it disappear. Many autographs were signed, many photos were taken... and i think eveyone went away happy. This was by far my most successful show to date and i can only hope both bands will return in the future! thank you to everyone that made it out, you are all wonderful and i owe you alot! a very special thank you goes out to Mike C. and Heather, who drove to this show from Atlanta, after having hosted the very same show the night before, I love you! Current Mood: giddy | | Tuesday, August 21st, 2001 | | 6:51 pm |
August 21, 2001 After two very difficult weeks, one involving closing down early due to some damage to the venue, not our fault i assure you, and the second involving a difference of opinion resulting in the loss of my house dj, I can only hope that this weeks little theme night, consisting of catholic school grrls and nuns, will help to put some momentum on our side. Some great news, I will be picking up my twins this weekend! Twin grrl sugar gliders! I cannot wait to see them! Current Mood: hopeful | | Monday, August 6th, 2001 | | 5:18 pm |
August 6, 2001 I have finally gotten my wind from last week's event. The Nosferatu Ball went very well and brought in alot of people. We had a costume contest at midnight and to the winners we gave bottles of Vampire wine, we gave out some vampire condoms, and had a CD release party for Glampire. All in all, it was a blast. On to the next idea! Current Mood: exhausted | | Sunday, July 29th, 2001 | | 12:05 pm |
